I just finished " With all my Heart", the last in a series about the Kenyon brothers. Now they have a step brother, Samual Firth, I'm assuming with the way the book ended that their are more adventures in store for the family as well as the "Rosebuds". Are there books in the works for Samual Firth and for Charlotte and Brandon????? I'm dying to know!!!! Could you please let me know if there are books out or if they are works in progress.Your devoted reader, with thanksBecky V.

I have just finished reading your book With All My Heart (as well as the other 2 related ones) and I had to tell you how wonderful they were.   I read a lot of romance books and these were the some of the best I have read in quite a while.   Do you have any information about when the next book will be out - based on the way With All My Heart ended I'm sure the "Rosebuds" will have to save the day again.  Thanks for listening.   You keep writing and I'll keep reading :) :)

I just wanted to tell you that I just finished With All My Heart. I sat down yesterday and presto 3 hours later it was all gone. I had a book hangover this morning!!!  I thoroughly enjoyed it, I loved Joshua and Anne , he was a great leading man and I love the Rosebuds, they remind me of my greataunt.   I was wondering about your next book One Wild Night, I saw it on Barnes & Noble website, who is it about? You kinda left me hanging at the end of With All My Heart, will it be Samuel Firth or Charlotte and Brandon. It was hard to tell, I'm really hoping its C & B.  Although, hopefully, you have some plans in mind for Samuel???Will you be putting up the cover and blurb (and an exerpt PLEASE, PRETTY PLEASE) for One Wild Night on your website?  Anyway, thank you for many hours of reading pleasure over the years.

All the best,

I hope the e-mail reaches the right person, i.e., the marvelous Barbara Dawson Smith. I am a fan of romance history books and I have loved all your novels translated in Italy. The last novel I read is Romancing the rogue, that I have liked very much. In the novel, however, I have been very much impressed by one of the secondary characters, Brand Villiers count of Faversham. In the novel, he appears twice but he is so intriguing (at least, this is my impression) that I would see him as an ideal main character...does a book like this exists? If the answer is no, have you consider inserting him in a new book? I hope so! Again, congratulations to an author I do appreciate, as many other romance history fans in Italy,

Hello,

just wanted to say I started with TEMPT ME TWICE (ok, so I'm congenitally backwards! <g>) and really enjoyed the Kenyon family. It also prompted me to glom your backlist, but the burning question is, "Will Brand Villiers ever get his story?" I hope?

Hello, Barbara.  I just finished Tempt Me Twice and loved it.  I was delighted to read about the Rosebuds again and be reacquainted with Romancing the Rogue.  Will there a book about Lord Faversham, Brandon Villiers?  He sounds soooo yummy!  Thanks again for a great book.

In mid - february, "Romancing the rogue" will be published in France. We would like to put it forward on the website. I was wondering if you could also tell me if you have any plans of telling Brand, the Earl of Faversham's story or Joshua Kenyon's story? in the near future?  I just finished reading Romancing the Rogue and Tempt me Twice. GREAT!!  I think Brand deserves/needs the chance to show everyone else the soft side that I KNOW he has!  How I  wish I could kiss that scar of his! : )

Dear Barbara,     I just finished reading your book, Tempt me Twice. This was the most entertaining book I have ever read.   my first thought was, I have to write to this   author and tell her what a joyous escape this book has been for  me! I could not put this book down. I took it with  me to work, in the car, everywhere! You brought all the  perfect elements together to make a perfect  story. I  have never read a book with so much sexual  tension,  it made the characters so exciting. It was so nice  to escape into another world while reading your book, thats  what reading is all about, the magic of falling  into the story.Thank you for sharing your talents and allowing readers to do that. After reading Tempt me Twice ,  I tried another author but I could not get into the book after  reading yours. Your book had me comparing  other authors, and they did not measure up! Im looking foward  to reading more of your books. I loved the twists and  turns in the story line.  The suspense at the final climax was better than any action or thriller movie I had ever  seen. This storyline would make the best movie!
Sincerely,  Courtney  B. Midyett

Dear Ms. Smith:

I have the entire collection of your titles published by St. Martin's Paperbacks.  All of them are truly marvelous reads and real delights.  "Tempt Me Twice" is no exception to this axiom.

While I was reading the first few chapters, I had the most unsettling feeling.  To quote Yogi Baera "It's deja vu all over again."  The feeling was deja vu. Then with the entrance of Sir Charles Damson to the scene and his reaction to the adorable Jabbar, something clicked for me, and I practically stood up and shouted out "Belloq! Of course, Rene Belloq."

"Tumdedumdum, Tumdedum..." the music from Steven Spielberg's "Raiders of the Lost Ark" (1981) was resounding in my brain and I could then see parts of Gabriel as Indiana Jones, Kate as Marion Ravenswood (yes, spelled in the masculine form), Charles as Belloq, Ashraf as Sallah, and of course the monkey as the monkey.  I loved that movie. I've always felt that the Indy-Marion history and relationship should be fleshed out and explored, because it smacked of a great story in answering all those questions about their pasts hidden beneath all that cardiac-arresting action.  I'm so glad that you explored similar avenues with your "Tempt Me Twice."  It is a perfect reversal of the "Raiders" emphasis, with the action secondary and the personal themes primary.

I felt a tiny touch of the Lerner and Lowe musical "Gigi," between Lady Stokeford and Nathaniel Babcock.  "Ah yes, I remember it well." Very evocative of Uncle Honore and Grandmamma Alvarez's duet.

The premise of a strong, prickly older sister, with a sweet younger sister, and a redoubtable suitor determined to tame the older sister and woo the wench is very reminiscent of Shakespeare's "The Taming of the Shrew."  That was a film too, Franco Zeffirelli (1967).

Of course, underlying, the whole shebang, is the mystery of the statuette.  Not unlike John Huston's "The Maltese Falcon" (1941).

Please don't mind my saying that your books are always terrific. You never let your readers down and always produce quality. That makes you a genuine, bona fide, dyed-in-the-wool, straight shooter (kinda like ol' Indy).

Thank you for letting me write to you and take care.

Sincerely, Ytta Bethel Carr

Hi Barbara,

I am an avid fan of yours. I have read mostly all of your books, except for the out of print ones. I have yet to sit down and research as to where I can find them. But I just loved reading your books and you are one of my favorite authors. I have been reading romance novels since I was a teenager. I have a family now and that's never stopped me from reading romance novels. At the end of the day, when everything's quiet, my son (5 years old) and my husband are both asleep, I take an hour or two with my feet up, sitting on my favorite chair and just read. You are a wonderful writer, please keep up the good work! I always look forward to reading your books.

My favorites are "Romancing the Rogue" and "Seduced By A Scoundrel". Excellent books! By the way, I read Michael Kenyon's & Vivien's story, and I'm reading Gabriel's and Kate's story now, is there or will there be a story about Joshua Kenyon? I'm just curious. I'm only on first chapter of "Tempt Me Twice" and it just dawned on me that Gabriel is Machael's brother. Please tell me if I need to research Joshua's story (or maybe I have read it, I just forgot or didn't realize the book's connected to Romancing the Rogue)or do I look forward to his story. Just dying of curiosity.

Sincerely, Margie Salvador

Just wanted to drop you a line to let you know how much I enjoyed browsing your website.  Your daughters are lovely and I am so glad to know they love to read.  I am a 71 year old grandmother and was read to as far back as I can rememeber. I have been addicted to reading since I learned to read.  My biggest thrill was to work in the library in Jr. High and High School and earn credits for the privilege.

I also want to thank you for the Out of Print section. I have a new hobby of trying to find these types at our library, used book stores and at the auction sites.  It bothers me when I can't find out what the book is about before I bid.  But thanks to you I have saved the synopsis of yours for reference.

I am a great fan of the romance novel and was deeply touched by the rake who was not a rake!  A truly passionate hero who expressed himself not only with his words but with his soul! Ethan captured my heart.

Also, Jane is the herione one can completely get behind and champion.  I was with her all the way! She was firm in spirit, resilient and formidable, the ugly ducking transfers into a swan and conquerors the conqueror!  Brilliant!

Thanks for the hours of gratifyfing reading.

Hello Barbara

I have the distinct pleasure of working in the world's only bookstore to exclusively stock romance novels.  Rendezvous, The Romance Bookstore, prides itself on being market leaders in promoting romance authors to its vast readership. Romancing the Rogue has remained a firm favourite with customers, as has Her Secret Affair.  The first book of yours that I read was Once Upon a Scandal, and I have been a fan ever since.  Our customers (and myself!) can't wait for Tempt Me Twice.  Gabriel Kenyon sounds like the kind of hero we all enjoy reading.  Throw in a villain, some stolen artifacts and an adventurous heroine and you have us hooked!

Subject: loved your book Too Wicked To Love!

Dear Mrs. Smith,

My name is Alicia Daniels. I am 21 yrs old,  I have never sat down and read a book from start to end without putting it down and months later picking it up again, until my cousin Betty  who is also a devoted fan of your books handed me Too Wicked To Love.

Since the day I picked up the book I couldn't put it down.  I would find excusses to read, stay up till dawn telling myself one more chapter one more chapter till my eyes could not stay open any longer.  That is how into your book I was.  Then when as I read the ending I couldnt believe the book was over.  I wanted more I wanted there to be a sequil.

I can’t even begin to explain how your book touched me. I started to care for the characters.   I would loose myself in chapter after chapter. Suddenly,  my everyday little problems didnt seem to overwhelm me anymore and I wanted to thank you.  I have started another one of your books Never A Lady that I am sure I'll enjoy even though Too Wicked To Love will always hold a special place in my heart, not only because it was the first book i had ever read non-stop but also it was the first book to make me feel so much emotion and the first book to make me actually smile, laugh, and cry. Thank you ,Thank you!

Sincerely,

Alicia Daniels

Subject: A New Discovery!

Dear Ms. Smith - I'm a recent fan of romance novels and I'm quite particular of the authors I deem worthy of my time.  I find that most of them are quite tedious and silly.  I care about the writing style and prefer that it abstains from frivolous and repetetive nonsense.  My favorites are Judith McNaught, Sandra Brown, Nora Roberts and Susan Elizabeth Phillips (another new discovery) and Mary Jo Putney.  My friend is an "about to be published" romance novelist and suggested I try you -  I am delighted.  I am happy to know you have a nice list of books and will look forward to reading them.    Sincerely, Linda Levitt
